About the Client

The Oviatt is an Art Deco penthouse and rooftop wedding and event venue in Downtown Los Angeles. Located in the historic James Oviatt Building, it’s known for its Parisian-inspired architecture, Lalique glass details, and a storied history of glamorous parties dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. Today, it hosts weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations with a unique blend of elegance and character.

The Challenge

When I began working with The Oviatt in January 2024, the venue’s online presence didn’t fully capture its rich history or unique personality. The website lacked SEO optimization, the brand identity felt generic, and the venue’s digital marketing efforts weren’t driving enough high-quality leads. The goal was to revamp the brand, increase visibility, and make the venue’s booking process clearer and more appealing to today’s audience.

Role

I started with SEO optimization for the existing website, then expanded into Google Ads Search Campaigns and Performance Max Campaigns. 

Over time, my role grew to include:

  • Brand Rebrand & Identity Design – refreshed visuals inspired by the venue’s architecture and history.
  • Website Redesign – new UX/UI, better content structure, pricing transparency, and lead-friendly forms.
  • Blog Content Creation – weekly SEO-rich articles highlighting venue features, industry trends, and local partnerships.
  • Printed Collateral – including branded materials and a custom cocktail book.

The Process

  • Conducted an in-depth venue tour to study architectural and design details for inspiration.
  • Created visual identity concepts blending classic Art Deco elements with a modern touch.
  • Built a new website from scratch with improved user experience, responsive design, and content strategy.
  • Developed event packages with clear inclusions and pricing for transparency.
  • Launched and managed seasonal ad campaigns targeting weddings and corporate events.
  • Ensured cohesive brand presence across all online listings and platforms.

The Results

  • 35% increase in leads since the April 2025 website launch.
  • 20% increase in monthly site sessions and 52% more unique visitors.
  • Bounce rate improved from 69% to 39%; average session time now 10m 5s.
  • Higher booking demand—clients now reserve further in advance.

Through a combination of rebranding, website redevelopment, SEO, and targeted advertising, The Oviatt’s online presence now reflects its legacy while appealing to a new generation of clients. This integrated approach has strengthened the brand’s identity and significantly boosted bookings.
